Weekend in Milano

As announced a few days ago, I had the pleasure of traveling this weekend to Milan to attend one of the shows of Fashion Week, Marni fashion show. It's been a very intense weekend, filled with good times, and we enjoyed the good atmosphere Milanese - in the middle of fashion week - where every corner was filled with people who exuded glamor.
My short weekend began on Saturday 15:00, but with a small / large unexpected: the destination airport. Milan has two international airports, one 15 minutes from the city (Linate Airport) and one about 45km (Malpensa Airport). What was my choice? mistakenly bought tickets to Malpensa. Beware! because a small mistake like this can cause a gap quite important in any economy. A taxi from Linate Milan usually varies between 15and 20, but from Malpensa the price is 85, no more no less, have a fixed rate and let you anywhere in town for that price. Beware again! as there are taxi drivers who take advantage of the ignorance of some tourists, sometimes demand the price that makes the taximeter, and this may be a joke about 120 each way.

Leaving behind the small incident, I met with my colleagues in the IDEA Hotel (average price / very low quality) and we went to enjoy the evening in Milan. During this week no matter where you go or visit which is always full, and reservations for lunch or dinner have to be done several days in advance. We started having some cocktails in "Callegaro", Via Solferino, a local environment very carefully and full of people with great style, in which during happy hour (18:00 to 20:00) could enjoy a lot of varieties pizzas, crostini, etc ... made at the time, free of charge, and drink at a single price. There could not miss the beer, or cocktails such as Bloody Mary or Cosmopolitan.
After starting to experience the atmosphere, we went to dinner at the Osteria "Stendhal", an amazing restaurant with good service, where the hours went by so fast that when we wanted to realize it was late enough for the early start the next day
turned out to be very hard.

Sunday 27th: MARNI fashion show began at 9:30 am, so at 7:30 we were already standing. We arrived at 9:00 to Via Alserio 22, place where MARNI celebrates their parades from many seasons ago. Just out of the taxi and you are breathing atmosphere of great show. There was a style that does not call attention to some detail, shoes, bag ... Even fashion photographers who were present were worthy of being photographed. Enter the enclosure was go into the extensive collection of MARNI this summer. All possible ways and prints from Consuelo's collection were there, anonymous people, buyers, fashion journalists and national VIPs.
Once inside, we did the typical photos next to the catwalk, and while we were waiting, we had the chance to see, passing by, the famous Anna Wintour, director of Vogue USA, followed by a couple of security people who took her direct
to backstage.
The MARNI AW11fashion show has been one of the most wonderful and care collections that I have seen so far. A new line, more restrained in terms of shapes and colors with an elegant study pattern, making each piece a timeless basics. Prints, so characteristic of the brand, are geometric and delicate, and color palette give warmth and sophistication to a collection without buts. MARNI is a leather/fur specialist, and it shows once again filling the catwalk with fur dyed in different colors, combining vitello and fox fur with great skill, and playing with the mix of wool and pieces of bison geometrically structured to make each piece a sole and exclusive piece that leaves no one indifferent.

One more season, the 15 minutes of this spectacular show came to an end, and therefore also our little weekend. Now, back to enjoy Italian cuisine and running to the airport, our plane will not wait. In late September I will return to Milan, but before that, you will enjoy our collection, we will present in early September.

Besos!
Kisses!
